Colonel Daniel S. Roper, U.S. Army, Retired, is the Director of National Security Studies at the Association of the United States Army’s Institute of Land Warfare. He commanded at battery, battalion and brigade levels and served as Seminar Leader for the School of Advanced Military Studies. His final assignment was as Director of the U.S. Army and Marine Corps Counterinsurgency Center from 2007 to 2011.
