Webinar Spotlights Warrants’ Role in Transformation
An upcoming Association of the U.S. Army webinar will focus on the role of warrant officers in the Army’s transformation and future.
Titled “Warrant Officers and Technical Expertise: Transforming the Future Army,” the webinar will take place Feb. 24 as part of AUSA’s Noon Report series. The online event begins at noon Eastern. It is free, but registration is required here.
Two of the Army’s senior technical experts are slated to speak—Chief Warrant Officer 5 Rylan Knight, chief technology officer for the deputy Army chief of staff for command, control, communications, cyber operations and networks, G-6, and CW5 Matt McDougall, senior technical adviser to the U.S. Army Western Hemisphere Command G-6.
During the webinar, Knight and McDougall will talk about how new organizations and advanced technologies are being implemented across the Army and how warrant officers are at the forefront of these efforts, shaping the future of warfare.
In his current role, Knight is responsible for providing technical leadership and advice to the Army G-6 for planning, strategy, network architecture and implementation of command, control, computers, communications, cyber operations and networks for worldwide Army operations.
He most recently was the senior technical adviser for U.S. Special Operations Command.
McDougall is a senior network operations technician who’s assigned to the Army’s newest four-star command. He previously served in Joint Special Operations Command, 1st Special Forces Command, 8th Army and the XVIII Airborne Corps.
