Veterans whose mission remains helping their fellow veterans and service members will be featured in November as part of the Association of the U.S. Army’s “Army Matters” podcast.

First up is a podcast featuring retired Lt. Col. Mike Erwin and retired Col. Michael “Sully” Sullivan of Team Red, White and Blue.

When Erwin retired from the Army in 2010, he discovered many fellow veterans who were longing for a community. He created Team Red, White and Blue, also known as Team RWB, to fill the void.

Over the past 15 years, the group has put together more than 15,000 events—from fun runs to chess meets—and connected more than a quarter million veterans.

During the podcast, Erwin, who is concluding his tenure as Team RWB’s executive director, and Sullivan, his successor, talk about how their partnership was forged during an operation years ago in Iraq, what’s next for Team RWB and how they felt seeing Sullivan’s daughter win an Olympic medal last year.

The episode is available Nov. 5.

Next up, on Nov. 19, is a podcast featuring Marine Corps veteran Mark Casper and Army veteran Jason Parker. Casper is president and CEO of Tech for Troops, which provides sustainable digital skills through training, education and technology to veterans and their families.

Parker is the group’s game master.

In 2013, Tech for Troops was born when a mother and her son decided to collect some used computers and donate them to veterans so they could learn valuable digital skills. In the years since, under Casper’s leadership, the organization has helped thousands of veterans gain necessary skills for the digital world.

Listen as Casper and Parker share some of the innovative things Tech For Troops is doing and highlight some inspiring success stories. Keep listening to learn how Tech For Troops’ gaming program not only brought veterans together but also saved the “Game Master” himself.
