AUSA Launches Thought Leaders Livestream Series
The Association of the U.S. Army is launching a Thought Leaders livestream series with Gen. Mike Murray of Army Futures Command scheduled for a June 10 presentation and retired Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Martin Dempsey appearing on June 15.
Murray, who became Futures Command's first commanding general when the organization was activated in August 2018, is expected to provide updates on Army modernization priorities.
Dempsey retired in 2015 after serving as the 37th Army chief of staff and then a final assignment as the 18th chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He will discuss his new book, No Time for Spectators: The Lessons That Mattered Most From West Point To The West Wing.
In the book, Dempsey takes readers behind the closed doors of the Situation Room and onto the battlefields of Iraq, and he examines the limits of loyalty, the need for sensible skepticism and the value of responsible rebelliousness.
The Thought Leaders livestream series is an extension of AUSA’s Thought Leaders podcast, temporarily taking the place of the General Bernard W. Rogers Strategic Issues Forum and the General Lyman L. Lemnitzer Lecture Series.
The series will keep a tight focus on senior military leaders and contemporary military authors and seek to educate the public on critical issues affecting land forces and strategy.
There is no cost for watching the events, but registration is required.
