AUSA Hosts Hot Topic on Long-Range Fires
Registration is open for an Association of the U.S. Army Hot Topic on long-range precision fires.
Scheduled for Dec. 3 at AUSA headquarters in Arlington, Virginia, the daylong Hot Topic is titled “Land-Based Fires in Large-Scale Combat Operations.”
During the event, speakers and panelists will highlight the integration of ground-based fires within the broader context of multidomain operations and underscore their importance in ensuring operational success.
Maj. Gen. Winston Brooks, commanding general of the U.S. Army Fires Center of Excellence and Fort Sill, Oklahoma, is scheduled to be the keynote speaker.
Also slated to speak are Maj. Gen. Frank Lozano, program executive officer for missiles and space; Brig. Gen. Rory Crooks, director of the Long-Range Precision Fires Cross-Functional Team; Brig. Gen. William Parker, director of the Air and Missile Defense Cross-Functional Team; Brig. Gen. Alric Francis, commandant of the Army Field Artillery School; as well as leaders from the All-Domain Sensing Cross-Functional Team and the Fires Center of Excellence.

During the Hot Topic, a series of presentations and panel discussions will focus on topics such as offensive and defensive fires as a system, extending the range and survivability of long-range precision fires, denying adversaries’ freedom of maneuver and integrated warfighting, to include sensing, targeting and sustainment.
One of the Army’s top modernization priorities, the Army is developing long-range deep-strike capabilities for the future fight. Key initiatives include the Precision Strike Missile and the Autonomous Multi-Domain Launcher.
