Thursday, April 09, 2015

The Association of the U.S. Army is hosting a Military Family Forum at Fort Bliss, Tex., on Wednesday, April 15, about how volunteer experience can be documented on a resume.

The registration deadline is Friday, April 10, and the event is open to the entire Fort Bliss community.

The forum will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Centennial Club, a banquet and conference center located in Building 11199 East Bliss. Lunch will be served and childcare vouchers will be provided.

To register, call (915) 569-4227, extension 7.

The chief topic at the forum will be how to convert volunteer experience into employment skills. It will include speakers from the Points of Light Foundation, Army Community Service Employment Readiness Program, Society for Human Resource Management, American Red Cross, In Gear Career and the Spouse Education Career Opportunities Program.

AUSA’s Family Readiness program hosted a family forum earlier this year at Joint Base Lewis-McChord,  and will host another Military Family Forum at Fort Riley, Kan., on June 3.
