AUSA Global Force Symposium Features Warriors to the Workforce Hiring Event

6 workshop sessions will provide resources and information for veterans, transitioning military service members and military spouses

Huntsville, AL  - March 17, 2015 The Warriors To The Workforce hiring and training workshops event presented in association with Still Serving Veterans during the 2015 AUSA ILW Global Force Symposium & Exposition will include training workshops featuring some of the top speakers in the region.  Event will take place at the Von Braun Center North Hall in Huntsville, AL on Wednesday, April 1, 2015.   Workshops will provide resources and information for veterans, transitioning military and military spouses on topics such as networking and presentation skills, resume writing, interviewing techniques, job searching, career planning through goal setting, translating military skills and training into civilian life and corporate experience. 

In addition to these training workshops, veterans will have the opportunity to meet with some of the country’s largest and most veteran friendly employers including ADTRAN, Aerotek, AIG, Armstrong Relocation, Booz Allen Hamilton, Canvas, Inc., Davidson Technologies, Edward Jones, First Command Financial Services, Huntsville Career Center, Intergraph Governmental Services, Intuitive Research and Technology,  Mediacom, NASA Marshall Flight Center, NMR Consulting, Phoenix, Redstone Federal Credit Union, Sears Home Service, South Western Communications, Still Serving Veterans, US Department of Veteran Affairs, Verizon Wireless, Weichert Realtors, West Corporation, WHNT News 19 and Yulista Aviation, Inc.

About Troy Trulock, Mayor of Madison, AL 

Troy Trulock was elected as Mayor of Madison, Alabama in August, 2012. Troy graduated from the University of Kansas in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management as well as was recognized as a Distinguished Military Graduate from the University’s Army ROTC program. Following graduation and commissioning, Troy served in multiple Army units, and as a combat veteran, was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service during the Gulf War.  Troy also received a Master of Science degree in Management from the Naval Postgraduate School. He and his family were assigned to Redstone Arsenal and took up residence in Madison in 2000.  In 2006, after successfully managing a multiple billion-dollar Army missile program, he declined attendance at the Military War College and chose to retire from the Army, deciding that “Madison was the right place to retire, raise a family, and to volunteer our time to give back to the community.”  https://www.madisonal.gov
