The Association of the U.S. Army’s Board of Directors has nominated two new candidates to serve on the association’s board. It also nominated six current members for reelection.

The actions were taken when the board, AUSA’s governing body, met Dec. 16.

Danny Deep, executive vice president of General Dynamics Combat Systems, and David Hathaway, president of ManTech’s Defense Sector are nominated to serve as directors on the board. Hathaway, who was elected to fill a mid-term vacancy ending in June, is nominated for a full three-year term.

The six board members nominated for additional terms are Lisa Atherton, president and CEO of Bell; Jim Cannon, president and CEO of AM General; Andy Hove, managing director of Horisonter Group; Phebe Novakovic, president and CEO of General Dynamics Corporation; retired Sgt. Maj. of the Army Ken Preston; and Bob Tyrer, co-CEO of The Cohen Group.

AUSA members who wish to make an additional nomination to the board must submit a petition for candidacy to AUSA national headquarters, as outlined in the association’s bylaws. Additional candidacies must comply with Article VI of the bylaws. Nominations must be received by April 15. The board will vote during its next meeting in June. Newly elected officers’ terms will begin July 1.

At its last meeting, the board voted to accept the candidates nominated to serve on board committees.

Hove was approved to serve an additional three-year term on the Finance and Audit Committee, and retired Col. William Hudson Jr. was approved to serve an additional three-year term on the Standing Bylaws Committee.
