AUSA 2017 Includes Help for Job Hunters

Transitioning soldiers, veterans and military spouses may find employment help at the Oct. 9-11 Annual Meeting and Exposition of the Association of the U.S. Army.

The nonprofit American Freedom Foundation is hosting the event in conjunction with AUSA.

Over the three-day event, about 20 companies will be on hand to talk about job opportunities. There will be a workshop providing tips on how to look for and secure a job and hiring professionals will be available to review resumes and provide some practical experience in interviewing for a job.

The Warriors to the Workforce event will be held at Booth 261 in Hall A of the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington, D.C., and will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

Under the three-day format, workshops and panel discussions are planned on the afternoon of Oct. 9, company meetings with prescreened candidates are planned for Oct. 10 and a hiring event is planned Oct. 11.

Several major defense contractors will take part.

The Warriors to the Workforce pavilion is open to anyone registered to attend the annual meeting. The workshops are open to those who register by Oct. 5 with Warriors to the Workforce at www.warriorstotheworkforcedc.net. There is no cost for registration or participation.
