The Army Ten-Miler will open priority registration for an in-person race on or about June 30, race officials announced.

Currently, registration is open for a virtual race, held between Oct. 10–25. The in-person race is slated for Oct. 10, one day before the Association of the U.S. Army’s 2021 Annual Meeting and Exposition in Washington, D.C.

AUSA is a founding and co-lead sponsor of the race.

“In accordance with current DoD policies and CDC guidelines the In-Person Race Priority Registration has a current capacity of 12,000 participants. As the restrictions begin to ease the Army Ten-Miler will reevaluate the conditions and will consider adding additional in-person race slots,” ATM officials said in a statement June 24.

Priority registration is open to active-duty, National Guard and Reserve personnel, as well as runners who have completed seven or more Army Ten-Miler races. Service members must use a “.mil” email address to register.

Race officials encouraged runners to continue registering for the virtual race as they will have priority in transferring to general registration in-person race slots if more spaces are added. Special “early bird” pricing for the virtual race ends July 5.

Instructions for transferring registrations from virtual to in-person and more information will be available on www.armytenmiler.com.

The 2020 Army Ten-Miler was held virtually because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Typically, the race draws about 35,000 registrants and is held at the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia.

Since the first Army Ten-Miler in 1985, all race proceeds support Army morale, welfare and recreation programs.
