Army Reserve CSM Speaks at AUSA Webinar

Command Sgt. Maj. Gregory Betty, the senior enlisted leader of the Army Reserve, will speak May 29 at a webinar hosted by the Association of the U.S. Army.
The event, part of AUSA’s Noon Report series, begins at 12 p.m. Eastern. It is free, but registration is required here.
During the Noon Report, Betty will reflect on his first year as the Army Reserve’s 15th command sergeant major and highlight key training initiatives and readiness priorities across the component.
He also will discuss the unique contributions of Army Reserve soldiers, who bring civilian expertise and military professionalism to every mission, and how this dual capability enhances operational effectiveness across the globe.
Betty also will outline strategic objectives focused on developing talent, strengthening combat readiness and ensuring the Army Reserve remains an essential and agile component of the total force.
In his role, Betty is the principal enlisted adviser to the commanding general of Army Reserve Command and other senior Army leaders on regulations, policies and quality of life issues related to nearly 178,000 Army Reserve soldiers.
He previously was the senior enlisted adviser to the deputy commanding general for the Army Reserve at Army Training and Doctrine Command. A native of Kingston, Jamaica, Betty enlisted in April 1988 and has served in Afghanistan, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
