ASSOCIATION OF THE UNITED STATES ARMY

The Las Vegas Chapter held its first General Membership meeting at Arizona Charlie's a local Hotel and Casino which honored Vietnam Veterans by inviting members of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 17 and Chapter 1076. We had a variety of Guests available to speak, among them were Members from the Vet Center an organization that helps veterans in a variety of ways, the US Census Bureau, and the Office of Congresswoman Suzie Lee. AUSA Senior Fellow CSM Jimmie Spencer was our Keynote Speaker for the evening who provided the Presidential Proclamation and a Commemorative pin to Vietnam Veterans. Additionally, we had a local College representative who also provided a brief as to the benefits of military service and how experience could transfer to college level credit. Our Dinner also included the opportunity to speak about what AUSA is and what our Chapter does here within the Las Vegas Community, informing some of our civilian guests as to our value.
