Family Readiness Intern

The Family Readiness Directorate is part of the Education department of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) located in Arlington, Virginia. AUSA is a nonprofit educational and professional development association serving America’s Army and supporters of a strong national defense.

Family Readiness serves as a voice for Soldiers and Army Families through support of AUSA’s overall mission to educate, inform, and connect. Family Readiness is dedicated to the interests of Army Families through education and advocacy and in providing all our Army families the tools, resources, and connections needed to manage the ins and outs of their military life journey.

The Family Readiness Intern focus areas include:

  • Assisting AUSA regions and chapters’ Family Program Vice Presidents and serves as a liaison between the national headquarters and the regions/chapters.
  • Overseeing the AUSA chapters’ Family Program Vice Presidents Collaboration to include maintaining the Teams share point.
  • Building connections to provide relevant programs and resources.
  • Managing special projects for Director and Deputy Director.
  • Researching and writing articles pertaining to Family Readiness topics.
  • Coordinating and managing publication updates.
  • Coordinating and execution of Family Readiness activities and events.

Prefer that candidate understands military family culture, Army quality of life programs, and Army Family benefits. Candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills, good technology skills, ability to multitask, and a dedicated support ethic to Soldiers, Families, and Army Civilians.
