2021 Scholarship Application & Information

The Greater Augusta-Fort Gordon AUSA Chapter's 2020 College Scholarship application is now open. The local chapter of AUSA is offering up to three $2,000 scholarships for Active Duty or Reserve Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine or direct family member (Spouse or child). The scholarship is to be used during the 2020-2021 academic year and the money can be used for Tuition, Fees, and Books!!

Also NEW this year we are introducing the Carol and Ev Greenwood Memorial Scholarship. A $1,000 scholarship awarded to one eligible 
participant for tuition, fees, or books for the 2021-2022 academic year seeking to pursue a career within the electrical industry. 

ELIGIBILITY:  Applicants must meet the following criteria: 

  • Resident of the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA); sponsor assigned to Fort Gordon 
  • Active Duty/Reserve Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine, or Coast Guard military service member 
  • (spouse or child)… or a U.S. Military Veteran enrolled in IBEW LU 1579 Apprenticeship 
  • Training Program (Carol and Ev Greenwood Memorial Scholarship) 
  • Be accepted to or enrolled in an accredited, degree-producing college or university and 
  • pursuing an associate’s or bachelor’s degree 
  • Must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average (GPA) 
  • Previous scholarship recipients are not eligible to apply for the same scholarship 

APPLICATION:  Applicants must submit the following: 

  • Application form 
  • Copy of DD Form 214 for U.S. Military Veterans (only) enrolled in IBEW LU 1579 
  • Apprenticeship Training Program (Carol and Ev Greenwood Memorial Scholarship) 
  • Resume not exceeding two pages in bullet format (See application form) 
  • Official college transcript indicating current grade point average; official high school transcript 
  • for upcoming high school graduates 
  • A minimum 250 word essay on a topic determined by AUSA (See application form) 

SUBMISSION:  Submit application materials by June 1, 2021 to: ausascholarships@gmail.com  

SELECTION TIMELINE:  A committee will review scholarship applications. The top finalists will 
have a personal interview with the committee.   

Application deadline July 1, 2021 
Notification of Finalists July 12, 2021 
Personal Interviews of Finalists July 14-15, 2021 
Notification of Recipients July 19, 2021 
Presentation of Scholarships at July Breakfast and Briefing July 20, 2021
