We were thrilled to welcome 170 attendees to include our industry sponsors / stalwart supporters; Active, Guard and Reserve members; Military Attaches representing Hungary, Pakistan, Poland, Romania, and Turkey; The Old Guard soldiers; Recruiters representing Landover and Potomac; ROTC Cadets and Cadre from George Mason Univ, Howard Univ, and Univ of Maryland; veterans; and members of the press (Jen Judson, Defense News, Gina Cavallaro, AUSA Sr. Writer). Also in the audience -- LTG(Ret.) Roger Schultz, GEN Sullivan Medal recipient and LTG(Ret.) Joe Anderson, GEN Abrams Medal recipient. We were delighted to also welcome partners representing other non-profit organizations; our parent -- AUSA National, Army Historical Foundation (National Museum of the U.S. Army), Military Women's Memorial, Capital Beltway Warriors Hockey, VFW, American Legion, Marshall Legacy Foundation, The Washington Tattoo, Veterans Moving Forward, and others. Our Guest of Honor and Speaker, General Mingus provided a most informative overview of Army priorities -- agile funding, coyote system, flexibility to keep up with technology, unmanned vs. manned, agility & mobility, launched effects, cross domain fires, LRPF, loitering munitions, battlespace geometry, the need to be able to see and sense, mastery vs. innovation, and he wrapped the discussion with the focus on holistic health and fitness. Following a 15-minute Q/A session, we thanked him for taking time out of his extremely busy schedule and presented him with a Making of the U.S. Army Museum book. Following luncheon adjournment, GEN Mingus spent quality time with The Old Guard soldiers, the numerous Cadets and Cadres, the Attaches, and industry reps. ANCC did another fantastic job for GWC -- it was a hugely successful and very well-received luncheon!

West Point Leadership and Ethics Conference

The West Point Society of DC 18th Annual Leadership and Ethics Conference was conducted at George Mason University Arlington Campus.  General (Retired) Vince Brooks USMA80, was the morning keynote speaker, Captain Simone Askew USMA 2018 was the afternoon keynote speaker and Colonel (ret)/Dr. Leon Moores (USMA84) was the faculty keynote speaker this year. Over 30 schools, approximately 200 high school juniors and more than 50 faculty representing those schools were engaged in discussions centered on ethics, leadership and leading an honorable life. Students demonstrated their grasp of handling ethical situations using an Ethical Decision Making Template /Model as a guide. Students were challenged with vignettes of varying degrees of difficulty and with the help of West Point Cadets and College ROTC classroom leaders, selected what they considered to be the most ethical course of action/decision. Thirty students were selected to compete for $10,000 in scholarships that will be presented at their school's end of year award ceremonies thanks to our awesome sponsors. The  CO-Chairs Phil Panzarella (USMA79) and Steve Murphy (USMA95) led the team of volunteers to a very successful 18th year of production. HOOAH!

MG (R) John George, EVP, George Washington Chapter represented the Chapter. The Chapter contributed $1000 to support a Scholarship for the young scholars attending.

The Washington Tattoo Finale 2025

"A Candid Review by Shauna Hamilton"

I'm still trying to find the words to describe how completely mesmerized I was by The Washington Tattoo this weekend. The sheer spectacle of global performers, the unwavering military precision, and the vibrant display of cultural excellence created an atmosphere unlike anything I've experienced before. Each act was a testament to dedication and skill, and the way they all came together was truly breathtaking. Congratulations, Mark Reilly on a truly phenomenal and unforgettable event! If you missed it, make sure it's on your list for next time!

Well Done!
