It is an honor to have been elected president of the Fort, Sheridan, Chapter, AUSA.

We had a very informative meeting on April 27 at Dover Straits. The details of the 250th birthday of the army at Cantigny

Were reviewed and we are very honored to have Major General James Mukoyama as our speaker and to have representative Dan Swanson, chairman, house veterans affairs committee for the state of Illinois to present the resolution honoring the career of Colonel Robert McCormick.

We are currently in the process of arranging to have the department of defense patriot awards for presentation at our joint luncheon with MOWW.

I also want to congratulate Colonel Paul Hettich and Command Sergeant Major Ron Haerle on their appointment as the Illinois Representative’s to the army retirement board at Fort Knox.

My personal congratulations to CW2 Lee Lopez what’s the presentation of the MOWW gold Patrick Henry award. This is a very prestigious award and he’s a very deserving recipient.

I also want to commend our ESGR volunteers for their outstanding work in Illinois. Doug Wallace chairman for Northeast Illinois along with Mike Peck, Lee Lopez, Dutch DeGroot and Jim Schultz.
