Fairfax-Lee Chapter 2018 Scholarship Program
The Fairfax-Lee Chapter of AUSA is proud to announce its 2018 Scholarship Program. Every year the Chapter provides scholarships to deserving students affiliated with the Fairfax-Lee chapter. Last year the Chapter awarded $20,000 to 21 students ranging from college bound high school seniors, current college students at both the undergraduate and graduate level, to include ROTC members, and Department of the Army Civilians. This year the program will continue to help students prepare for their future.
To apply applicants must be a high school senior or full/part time college student for the 2017-2018 academic year; complete and submit the application; provide a copy of school transcript; one or more letters of recommendation from a teacher, coach, or supervisor; and a short, 500 words or less, essay on why the applicant feels they are deserving of a scholarship.
There are six categories for eligibility to compete for a scholarship ranging from Active Duty, Army National Guard, and Army Reserve Soldiers and their Family members, Wounded Warriors and their Family members, ROTC and JROTC students, DA Civilians, Current AUSA Fairfax-Lee Chapter Members and Family Members, and people pursuing a STEM program of study.
All entries must be postmarked by April 9, 2018.
This year’s award luncheon and general membership will be held June 1. The guest speaker is Brigadier General Omar J. Jones IV, Chief of Public Affairs for Headquarters, Department of the Army.
