The Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Potomac-Liberty Chapter is proud to launch the “LTC (R) Kenneth Britt Scholarship Program” named after our immediate past President who unexpectedly passed in August of 2020.

A true Soldier and servant leader at heart, Ken spent 25 years of active Military service in the Field Artillery.  Upon retirement, he joined the board of Directors of the Fairfax-Lee Chapter and for 14 years served in various positions culminating as President 2016-2018. Ken’s Legacy of serving our Soldiers, Army Civilians and their families lives in the Scholarship Program he helped establish.

Every year the Chapter provides scholarships to deserving students affiliated with the U.S. Army and this AUSA Chapter.  Over the past nine (9) years, the Chapter’s scholarship program has awarded over $160,000.00 in scholarship funding.  Recipients included high school seniors and college students at both undergraduate and graduate levels among Soldiers, Family members, Army civilians, and ROTC/JROTC cadets.  This year the program will continue to help students prepare for their future.

To be eligible, applicants must be a member of the Chapter or their immediate family member.

To qualify to compete for a scholarship, eligible applicants must (1) be a senior in high school, or full/part time student for the 2021-2022 academic year at an accredited college or university; (2) complete and submit an application through our portal on or prior to the established deadline; (3) provide a copy of your school transcript; (4) submit one or more letters of recommendation from a teacher, coach, or supervisor; and (5) submit an essay of 500 words or less on what makes you deserving of a Chapter scholarship.
