Scope/Objective
The theme for this professional development forum is: "Ready Today, Prepared for Tomorrow: Readiness and Modernization for Sustaining the Future Fight." With the arrival of the multi-domain battle concept, the Secretary and Chief of Staff of the Army have put forth a modernization strategy to regain our competitive advantage against emerging threats, competitors, and adversaries. No matter the scale or complexity of the challenge, sustainment remains paramount to enabling readiness and winning on the battlefield. Through greater utilization of commercially-available technology, building capacity at the speed of relevance, and developing tomorrow's leaders in logistics, our Army will maintain its ability to sustain better than any other.
This symposium will provide an opportunity for senior leaders from industry, academia, and the military to engage in dialogue on sustainment efforts for the future fight. Subject matter experts will discuss logistics challenges impacting the Army's six modernization priorities, and provide insight and analysis on technological enablers including big data analytics, advanced manufacturing, and artificial intelligence. Attendees will gain an understanding and appreciation for the criticality of building sustainment into all of the Army's modernization efforts early on to reduce lifecycle costs and better enable readiness. Military, government, and industry professionals involved in all aspects of the Army sustainment community are expected to attend.
