Chapter Namesake: CPL Bill McMillan

Our chapter is named for CPL William L. McMillan U.S. Army - Combat Medic KIA in Operation Iraqi Freedom  23 October 1985 - 8 Jul 2008. The chapter was founded by CPL McMillan's parents, Lloyd and Marge McMillan.

The Bluegrass Chapter is the premier voice for our local Soldiers and Families, we are a dedicated team committed to building the best professional and representative association for the world's best Army.

ADVOCACY
AUSA Bluegrass Chapter speaks out for the men and women of the United States Army who proudly serve our country. How do we accomplish this task?

LOCAL COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
AUSA has 125 chapters located worldwide. Made up entirely of volunteers, they provide recreational and educational opportunities to Soldiers and their families. Most importantly, they support our deployed Soldiers and families left behind. AUSA and its' chapters have contributed over $2,000,000 to awards, scholarships, and support of soldier and family programs.

EDUCATION
Grassroots support for America's Army can only come when people know and understand the value of the Army to the nation. AUSA Bluegrass Chapter accomplish this through, our Institute of Land Warfare, Industry Affairs meetings & events, and our Government Affairs office.

WHO CAN JOIN?
 We welcome anyone who subscribes to the philosophy of a strong national defense thru being a VOICE for the Army and SUPPORT for the Soldier/Veteran and their Family.

Typical Chapter Members include:  Active, National Guard,  Reserve, Veterans, Retirees, Wounded Warriors,  Government Civilains, Concerned Citizens and FAMILY members.  

Community businesses and defense industry companies are strongly encouraged to join us.
