San Diego Chapter
The San Diego Chapter, Association of the United States Army (AUSA) is a private, non-profit organization that acts primarily as an advocacy group for the United States Army.
Chartered in 1959, the Chapter boasts membership of 828, and growing. Membership is open to everyone, not just Army personnel, nor is membership mandatory for Soldiers, although Army personnel are highly encouraged to join by their chain of command.
Chapter Programs
As an advocate within the local community for issues that come under the AUSA National mission’s umbrella, the San Diego Chapter:
- Hosts quarterly General Membership meetings to inform Chapter members and guests on topics of US Army, military, and veteran significance
- Supports local Senior and Junior Army ROTC units through awards and scholarships
- Engages local schools to promote participation in AUSA’s CyberPatriot cyber defense competition and recognize outstanding teachers
- Supports local veteran services organizations
- Advocates Army and DoD positions with Congressional representatives and their staffs
