AUSA is a professional, non-profit association representing America’s Army on Capitol Hill and in the local communities, we are the Army's Association. AUSA serves as an advocate and voice for the TOTAL Army – Active Component, National Guard, Army Reserve, Family Members, Department of the Army Civilians, and the Retiree Community. This chapter is part of a grass roots effort that supports AUSA initiatives by advocating for a strong Army and supporting our Soldiers, their families, veterans, and the many members of our community who support the Army.

The Marne Chapter serves as a liaison between the AUSA and local community to identify and address issues important to its membership as well as to help educate the public about the need for a strong Army and national defense. Our main goal, however, is to support our local communities to the best of our ability.

The Association of the United States Army, Alexandria Virginia, announces The Marne Chapter as BEST Chapter, Category IV, 2021.  The Marne Chapter will be recognized at the AUSA Annual Meeting and Exposition in Washington, DC October 11-13 at the opening Ceremony as well as at the Eisenhower luncheon and Marshall Dinner.   This will be the first time in the 52-year operational history that the Marne Chapter has earned this award from The Army’s Association, AUSA.  Executive Board Members including President Ric Schreihofer, Past President Carla Schreihofer, Vice President JROTC/ROTC; George Frederick and Vice President Retiree and Veterans Affairs; Pete Hoffman will travel to the annual meeting to participate in the event and accept the award.  During a year in which programming, membership and activities were limited more than ever, the Marne Chapter and its leaders excelled to be named AUSA Best Chapter 2021, Category IV. 

The Marne Chapter began in August with in-person events on Fort Stewart’s, Club Stewart, where they had a luncheon and speaker. Our speaker was Dr. George Fredrick and he shared information about Georgia Southern University’s ROTC Program and how the Army ROTC (Reserve Officers Training Corp) is one of the best leadership courses in the country and part of the cadet’s college curriculum. Upon graduation from college and completion of GSU’s Army ROTC program, the cadet will earn the bar of Second Lieutenant, becoming a leader for life. The 2, 3, and 4-year Scholarship options based on the time remaining to complete your degree include Scholarships, pay Tuition & Fees or Room & Board. 

The 2021-2022 years Chapter programming includes, zoom virtual events monthly, more luncheons quarterly, and professional development events every other month as well as its annual Army Birthday Golf Tournament. Membership is not necessary but encouraged to attend these events. Marne Chapter's Mission

• Provide a robust chapter activities and programs benefiting the soldier its families, our members & community partners while all promoting values and initiatives of the U.S. Army and AUSA National HQs.
• Communicate with Marne Chapter Members thru Virtual Events 
• Maintain information and education programs that provide effective outreach to community leaders, congressional leaders, and local centers of influence that will enhance our chapter, our membership, AUSA, and the U.S. Army.
• Continue to seek additional initiatives for Soldier & Family Programs in the Chapter.
