AUSA Central Texas Scholarships

2026 Scholarship Application
Scholarships offered by the Central Texas Chapter of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) are available to AUSA members and their family members. A special selection committee will score applications based on the student's academic record. This is a merit-based scholarship.
All properly submitted applications are reviewed and evaluated by the Selection Committee using an internal scoring process.
WHO CAN APPLY?
To apply for an AUSA Central Texas Chapter Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
✓ Be a current member of AUSA (OR the child of a parent/legal guardian of a current AUSA member) AND affiliated with the Central Texas Chapter

You will need your AUSA Membership Number.

If you/your parents are AUSA members, but not affiliated with the Central Texas Chapter, please email ausacentex@gmail.com to be added to the Chapter roster.

If you are not sure if you are an AUSA member or affiliated with the Chapter, go to www.AUSA.org and click LOGIN in the upper right, follow the instructions under “Not sure if you have an AUSA Account?”
✓ Must be accepted or expect to be accepted by a college, university, trade, or technical school for the upcoming fall or spring semester
✓ Must submit a completed application packet to be received by 1 May 2026. Only completed packets received by the deadline will be considered.
SCHOLARSHIP TIMELINE
- 15 December through 1 May - Complete and submit your application packet using the link at the bottom of this page. The application must be received by midnight, May 1st, 2026. Ensure your email address on the application is correct. All correspondence, including notification of the receipt of your application, will be via email.
- May 2026 through June 2026 - The selection process begins. If selected to receive a scholarship, you will receive an invitation to the Chapter Scholarship Ceremony where the scholarship recipients will be announced.
- June 2026 - Chapter Scholarship Ceremony. If you are awarded a scholarship, enrollment verification must be provided for the upcoming semester in order to receive your award. Images from the 2025 Chapter Scholarship Ceremony can be found here.
SCHOLARSHIP INSTRUCTIONS
- Click on the link 2026 Scholarship Application to begin the application process.
- You will need to have, or know, the following information. For the items that ask for "scholarship," "extracurricular," or "volunteer & community activities or work experience," please use activities from your time in high school and/or college:
- AUSA Membership Name, Number & Address of AUSA Member (must be associated with the Central Texas Chapter)
- List of up to four scholastic activities (National Honor Society, Beta Club, Math Team, Foreign Language Society, Science Olympiad, Robotics Team, etc), including dates you participated in each, plus any leadership role you played in that activity and any recognitions you received.
- List of up to four extracurricular activities (athletics, band, orchestra, choir, theatre, student government, school clubs, etc) , including dates you participated in each, plus any leadership role you played in that activity and any recognitions you received.
- List of up to four volunteer & community activities or work experience (church, scouting, clubs, etc) you have participated in.
- The essay questions will ask about your goals and inspiration and a question around AUSA's guiding principles. More information about our guiding principles can be found on our website by clicking here.
- You will be required to upload all transcripts.
- If you are a high school student, please provide just your high school transcript. High School Seniors must provide transcripts that cover at least the first semester of senior year.
- If you are already a college student, please provide your high school transcript and all college transcripts.
- If you are a graduate student, please provide your undergraduate transcript and any current graduate transcripts.
- Optional upload - resume
- If you are in a field that has a specialized resume (choir, theatre, band, etc), please feel free to upload that here. It is not required, only if you would like the committee to see your work in that field to date.
- If you have already had a career and would like the committee to see your work experience, feel free to upload. It is not required.
- Confirmation & Signature
- You will be asked to confirm you have answered truthfully to the best of your knowledge to all questions.
- You will be asked to confirm that you have not used A.I. to answer in a manner that it misrepresents your own original thoughts and experiences.
- You will be asked to sign digitally before you submit.
Scholarship Awards
- The review of applications by the Selection Committee is confidential an dis made without regard to race, sex, religion, or national origin.
- Scholarships are awarded for excellence based on academic records and the answers given to the included questions.
- Scholarships are awarded in June.
- Awarded scholarships must be used within two school years immediately following the award.
- The scholarship monies will be awarded upon receipt of a completed Central Texas AUSA Scholarship Letter and the completed voucher and enrollment verification from the institution of higher education. Funds are disbursed directly to the institution of higher learning and not to the individual recipient. The recipient is responsible for notification of the financial aid office of the institution of their choice.
- Scholarship recipients must consent to the use of name, photo, and scholarship information on the Central Texas AUSA social media.
