September brought a series of inspiring moments to the AUSA Central Texas Region, marked by recognitions of heroism, dedicated volunteerism, and vibrant community engagement.
Honoring Heroism
The centerpiece of the month was the recognition of SSG Mitchel D. Hull, who was awarded three Red Cross Life-Saving Awards—including the Certificate of Merit signed by President Joe Biden—for his extraordinary actions in saving three lives on separate occasions. The heartfelt ceremony held at the Samuel Adams Brewhouse was attended by 50 people, including Gustavo J. Rodriguez Jr., AUSA Region IV President; Retired Colonel Chris Albus, AUSA Central Texas President; and Retired Colonel James P. “JP” Hogan, AUSA BOG community members, who joined in a standing ovation to honor his impact. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1r2SHfp1SUJ7d-IGLRvMejt6tqIdMS9AB/view

McDwyer and Colonel Mark R. McClellan, Fort Hood Garrison Commander.
Strengthening Community Connections
