Veterans’ hiring event to be held at AUSA Global Force Symposium

Sunday, March 01, 2015

The Association of the United States Army (AUSA) has again partnered with the American Freedom Foundation to host the Warriors To The Workforce Hiring Event for veterans, in conjunction with SourceAmerica, GES, and Still Serving Veterans, to be held at the 2015 AUSA Global Force Symposium and Exposition March 31 – April 2.

This one-day event, to be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Ala., is part of the American Freedom Foundation’s nationwide initiative to help veterans find jobs.

The first event was held at the AUSA 2013 Annual Meeting and Exposition, and was featured again at the 2014 Annual Meeting exhibit hall. Also last year, it was held in Huntsville at the Association’s symposium.

This program was a great success, according to the hundreds of veterans who participated in it.

The hiring event this year will again bring together major companies from throughout the country to profile their services and provide employment opportunities for veterans.

Veterans attending the Global Force Symposium and Exposition have the opportunity to talk with employers, submit qualifications and even participate in on-the-spot job interviews.

Warriors To The Workforce is unique in that the American Freedom Foundation will vet out resumes and match those qualified veterans, transitioning military service members and spouses with employers with specific job descriptions.

In addition to the hiring event, Warriors To The Workforce will include workshops for veterans providing resources and information on subjects such as mental readiness, confidence building, networking and presentation skills, resume writing, interviewing techniques, job searching, career planning through goal setting, translating military skills and training into civilian life and corporate experience, among others.

Attendance at the Warriors To The Workforce Hiring Event is free and open to veterans, military service members and spouses.

The 2015 AUSA Global Force Symposium and Exposition will explore the capabilities outlined in the Army Operating Concept and how the force transforms from being adaptive to driving innovation for Force 2025 and beyond.
