Trustees appoint members to Advisory Board of Directors

The Association of the United States Army’s Council of Trustees re-elected five members to serve on the Association’s council – AUSA’s governing body.The council met April 27 at the Association’s national headquarters in Arlington, Va.Re-elected to serve as trustees for additional three-year terms were: Thomas Arseneault; Christopher M. Chadwick; Richard H. Edwards; Maj. Gen. Patricia P. Hickerson, USA, Ret.; and Gen. Carl E. Vuono, USA, Ret.Nicholas D. Chabraja was elected to serve as chairman for another year.In addition, Sgt. Maj. of the Army Jack L. Tilley, USA, Ret., vice chairman for noncommissioned officer and soldier programs, and Lt. Gen. David H. Ohle, USA, Ret., vice chairman for retiree and veteran affairs, were re-elected to serve additional two-year terms in those positions.Phil Sakowitz was elected vice chairman for civilian affairs for a two-year term.The council appointed 16 new members and re-appointed six current members to serve three-year terms beginning July 1 on the Association’s Advisory Board of Directors.The newly appointed members were: Col. Devine, USA, Ret., Fort Knox Chapter; CW5 Gary Ensminger, USA, Ret., Fort Campbell Chapter; Col. Robert Fasulo, USA, Ret., Maj. Gen. Harry Greene – Aberdeen Chapter; Alecia Grady, Captain Meriwether Lewis Chapter; and Ellen M. Helmerson, Virginia Colonial Chapter.Brig Gen. Terry L. Holden, USA, Ret., North Texas Chapter; Col. James A. Lundell, USA, Ret., Gen. John Vessey Jr. Chapter; Dr. Susan R. Myers, George Washington Chapter; John B. Nerger, Redstone-Huntsville Chapter; Command Sgt. Maj. William Shiflett, USA, Ret., Braxton Bragg Chapter; Lt. Col. Isabelle Slifer, USA, Ret., Fairfax-Lee Chapter; Gloria Sutton, George Washington Chapter; and Col. Willie Wright, USA, Ret., Braxton Bragg Chapter, were also appointed.Re-appointed to the Advisory Board were: Col. William J. Beiswenger, USA, Ret., Sunshine Chapter; Faye E. Earley, Fairfax-Lee Chapter; Sgt. Maj. Todd B. Hunter, USA, Ret., George Washington Chapter; Col. Alan D. Kruse, USA, Ret., Rock Island Arsenal Chapter; Brig. Gen. Harold W. Nelson, USA, Ret., Carlisle Barracks-Cumberland Valley Chapter; and Lt. Col. Dick Winter, USA, Ret., Virginia Colonial Chapter.Advisory Board members serve on one of the Association’s standing committees to include: Army civilians; awards; chapter operations; finance and audit; NCO and soldier programs; reserve components; retiree and veteran affairs; and standing bylaws.A listing of the committees and their members is published periodically in ARMY Magazine.
