Now in its 63rd year, the Association of the United States Army has been the "Voice for the Army – Support for the Soldier."AUSA has been educating the members of Congress and the general public on the critical issues that directly affect the men and women of the U.S. Army – and their families – who are proudly serving our country.AUSA membership is open to all Army components – active Army, Army National Guard and Army Reserve. Also retirees, veterans, government civilians, business men and women, industry representatives, military academy and ROTC cadets, family members and concerned citizens are invited to participate as members. One of AUSA’s missions is to educate the public on the Army’s value to our great nation by telling the "Army Story."AUSA accomplishes this in a number of ways:The Association’s Institute of Land Warfare educates decision makers, the media and the general public through its national issues conferences, forums, special reports, Torchbearer Reports, background briefs and research papers.AUSA’s Industry Affairs Directorate, with the Association’s Institute of Land Warfare, hosts a monthly breakfast forum that features speakers including the secretary of the Army, the Army chief of staff and other prominent Army and Department of Defense military and civilian leaders.AUSA’s Government Affairs Directorate – through the Association’s national headquarters and our members – educates Congress with testimony and visits to Capitol Hill. It also publishes a weekly, online legislative newsletter when Congress is in session.ARMY Magazine and AUSA NEWS update the membership on the latest happenings in national defense and national security, legislative activities on Capitol Hill and programs and projects at the Association’s national headquarters. The Annual Meeting and Exposition held every October in Washington is a well-recognized professional development forum that brings over 26,000 members and guests together.Meeting attendees tour the exhibit halls to view state-of-the-art equipment and technology for the Current and Future Force, as well as attend seminars and forums to hear the latest issues affecting the Army, its soldiers, civilians and their families.AUSA chapters located around the world play a vital role in supporting America’s Army by generating dynamic programs and activities involving military and civilian communities.Chapters are led by dedicated volunteers who give of their time and efforts to support the Army of all components. One major accomplishment: AUSA’s chapters have donated over one million dollars to meaningful programs, including college tuition assistance, scholarships and support for our wounded warriors and their families.AUSA’s Family Directorate is uniquely positioned to articulate and support the interests of all Army families – especially during this time when families are facing difficult challenges. As the premier voice for America’s Army, AUSA is made up of a dedicated team committed to building the best professional and educational association for the world’s best Army.Join AUSA today!Complete the application in this Special Report on Page 16, enclose a check or credit card information and mail it to: AUSA, ATTN: Marketing Department, 2425 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, VA 22201.Or, join online at www.ausa.org.For further information, call (855) 246-6269.
