May 2008 - The GW Chapter donated $5000 to SegWays for Vets to fund one segway for an OIE/OEF amputee. Segways were presented on 5/7/08 at a luncheon at the ANCC.
February 2008 - GW Chapter donated $5K to Segways for VETS for purchase of a Segway for an Army double amputee.
December 2006 - The chapter in conjunction with FxLee hosted the wounded soldiers and their families at a Wanna be a Santa Christmas celebration. $50,000.00 in gifts, children’s toys, and family support was presented to the wounded soldiers and their families.
September 2006 - Participated as an escort for Wounded Warriors visit to the Pentagon hosted by CIO/G6. Wounded service members from WRAMC were greeted by active duty, retired, DOD civilians and contractors in Corridor three. They were then taken on a tour of the Pentagon where the volunteers were able to talk to them about current affairs, working in the Pentagon, and the positive effects their tour of duty has on the US.
On Sept. 9th, the chapter hosted 40 wounded soldiers and their families from WRAMC to a fun filled day at Busch Gardens, Williamsburg. The Busch company hosted the event with a security escort with sirens and lights flashing from the main gate to the entry gate. Clysdale and photo ops were abundant. A picnic hosted by Busch was held in the German picnic area. Rides, shows, animals, and food were sponsored by the chapter and Busch. Wheek chairs and private escorts were provided to help the soldiers. A FANTASTIC ARMY HOOAH DAY. The soldiers and their families were overwhelmed. Separate pictures were provided to AUSA.
