A Pentagon task force recommends in a report released Dec. 20 charging higher medical health care fees, including higher pharmacy fees, for military families, retirees and their families.

Army announces re-stationing details
The Army announced Dec. 19 where it will station more than 74,000 soldiers as part of its plan to grow the active and reserve component force over the next few years.

A ‘win-win-win’ situation
The vice chief of staff of the Army called the re-stationing plan “not just a win-win; this is a win-win-win” for the service itself, soldiers and their families because “we’re getting bigger, but more importantly, we’re getting better as an Army.”

Gates presses allies for support in Afghanistan
Defense Secretary Robert Gates told a key congressional committee that he was pressing NATO allies to close the gaps in forces, equipment and resources in Afghanistan to curb rising violence and a growing insurgency.
