Reserve Wants to Hold 110 Couples Weekends

The Army Reserve is planning to hold 110 “couples weekends” for soldiers returning from deployment this year and hopes to expand it to 240 next year.

Special Reports Lt. Col. Kenneth Braddock, the director of Task Force 218 that is in charge of the five community organizations in First Army and is based at Fort Jackson, S.C., said there have been about 1,500 guardsmen and reservists in the Community Based Health Care Organizations program since it started.
Families Have Tools for Stress During Deployment Reunion

Sylvia Kidd, AUSA’s director of family programs, takes the long view of the Army and programs for families of soldiers who are deployed. What had been a hit-or-miss proposition, dependent on the installation, changed in the early 1990s.
