The Army’s top recruiting officer is reaching out to Association of the United States Army chapters and asking them to “identify highly qualified young men and young women” to local recruiters “to help us reach potential enlistees and potential officers.”

As a member-based organization, AUSA annually solicits proposed resolutions from its membership.

Marshall Foundation Honors AUSA for Support
The Association of the United States Army was honored at a ceremony April 13 when Harry Warner, president of the George C. Marshall Foundation, Brian Shaw, the foundation’s vice president and director of development and communications, and Gen. Edward C. “Shy” Meyer, USA, Ret., unveiled a commemorate marble wall at the Marshall Museum and Library where the Association’s name is now permanently displayed.

Senators Express Concern Over Recruiting, Retention
The chairman of the Senate Armed Services Personnel Subcommittee said to the Defense Department personnel chief and the services’ senior personnel officers: “Let’s assume the worse in Iraq, Afghanistan and [the deity] knows where else” service members may be two years from now, and predict its effect on recruiting and retention.
