The Association of the United States Army approved its 2008 resolutions noting that “after more than six years of war, our soldiers have proven that it takes boots on the ground to achieve success on today’s battlefields,” but “the Army in which they serve is out of balance.” (12/1/2007)

Army Reserve exceeds recruiting goal
The Army Reserve exceeded its annual recruiting goals this year, the force’s commanding officer said Oct. 9, adding that the reserve did well with retention as well. (12/1/2007)

Commission calls for reform in Army contracting
The special independent commission on Army acquisition recommended that the Department of Defense add up to 2,000 military and civilian contract officers, strengthen the Defense Contract Management Agency, overhaul its personnel system and reform its procurement procedures. (12/1/2007)
