House amendment would deny funding for personnel system
The House approved an amendment to the defense appropriations bill that would deny funding for key parts of the National Security Personnel System.

Free Iraq would be ‘massive’ defeat for al Qaeda
President George W. Bush voiced his support for Iraq’s Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki during an address Aug. 22 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars National Convention in Kansas City, Mo. He added that a free Iraq would provide hope throughout the Middle East.

AUSA honors Becton with Marshall Medal
Lt. Gen. Julius W. Becton Jr., USA, Ret., soldier, combat commander, administrator, educator, public servant, government leader and role model will receive the 2007 George Catlett Marshall Medal – the highest award presented by the Association of the United States Army.
