3^rd Quarter 2011

September General Membership Meeting:

The chapter’s General Membership Meeting was held Tuesday evening, September 27 at the Villa Milano restaurant and events center.  The evening was to recognize the top recruiters for the 27^th Recruiting Command; SFC William Smith, Top Recruiter, USAR, SFC Todd Everett, Top Recruiter, OHARNG and SSG Carmelo Angelneri, Top Recruiter, USA. 

The guest speaker for the General Membership meeting was Major Hilton.  Major Hilton is the Executive Officer for the Columbus Recruiting Battalion.  Major Hilton provided an inspirational speech to the recruiting command.

The meeting wrapped up with a 50/50 raffle award presented by the Treasurer, Art Sterling.

The next General Membership Meeting will be held on January 31, 2012.  The agenda is TBD.

The GMM will be held at the Villa Milano, 1630 Schrock Rd Columbus, OH 43229.

Message from the EX-COMM:

The chapter has held three executive committee meetings during the 3^rd quarter of 2011.  The Minutes are posted on the AUSA website after each executive committee meeting: www.ausa.org/sites/chapters/CentralOhioChapter

Sponsorships:

EX-COMM was briefed on Army’s Survivor Outreach Services (SOS) presented by Ms. Angela Brittain.  The chapter was advised the purpose of SOS, to provide assistance and support to fallen service members.  SOS will hold a Family Retreat next year at the Cherry Valley Lodge and Coco Key Water Resort on October 12-14, 2012. The Central Ohio Chapter will be supporting the event. 

The DSCC held an Ohio National Guard reunion on September 10, 2011.  The chapter was represented by several members.

The Chapter sponsored a hole at the September 26, 2011 Ohio Guard and Reserve fund raising golf outing.

The Central Ohio Chapter is sponsoring the Northwest Ohio Satellite Chapter until they become a recognized standalone Chapter.  To sign up or donate to the Northwest Chapter please visit: www.centralohioausa.com

Fundraisers:

The chapter is considering a Golf Outing Fundraiser the second week of June 2012.  For more information regarding sponsorship, attending, volunteering or input; contact President Hollar.
