On 20 November 2012, the Arizona Territorial Chapter will conduct the 24th annual Armed Forces Career Officers Day (AFCOD). The purpose of the event is to orient approximately 200 Junior ROTC cadets from all Service programs in Arizona to the merits and challenges of serving as commissioned officers. Cadets will arrive at McCormick Ranch Golf Club at 1030. At that time, twenty representatives from the Service Academies, schools and other institutions that confer commissions will be set up with display tables to engage the cadets and provide information on their respective programs. At 1200, the cadets will be treated to a Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings. Speakers at the event will be two junior officers from different Services who will convey their impressions and experiences of commissioned service. The event will end at approximately 1400. There will be no charge to the cadets whose meals will be paid by sponsors. Sponsorship of a full table of eight is $200, a half table is $ 100 and an individual cadet is $30. The per meal cost to Chapter members and other attendees will be $30.
