Operation Thanksgiving Eagle is a project to thank the children of the military for their daily sacrifices in the name of protecting America’s freedom by providing free copies of Debbie Finks children’s activity book, titled It’s a Family Thanksgiving! A Celebration of an American Tradition for Children and Their Families. This holiday workbook reminds us why we hold strong to our history, our heritage and our family traditions and how we draw strength and inspiration from our heroes and our heroines.

Operation Thanksgiving Eagle began through the efforts of author Debbie Fink of Harmony Hearth Publishing who became determined to find a way to thank children who, as a part of a military family, make sacrifices every day as their parents serve to insure our nation’s freedom. This sacrifice is often more keenly felt by children around holidays, when dads or moms may be away and unable to gather around the holiday table with them.  Ms. Fink’s determination to express her gratitude and that of countless others brought her ideas to  AUSA’s Family Programs.  Fink’s vision: to donate thousands of copies of It’s a Family Thanksgiving! to military children as a way to express gratitude for their silent sacrifices AUSA Family Program's. .
