The Association of the United States Army has partnered with the American Freedom Foundation to create the first Warriors To The Workforce Hiring Event for veterans held in conjunction with the 2013 AUSA Annual Meeting and Exposition.
This one-of-a-kind event, Oct. 21 – 23 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in the nation’s capital, is part of the American Freedom Foundation’s nationwide initiative to help veterans find jobs.
The event brings together major companies from throughout the country to showcase their services and provide employment opportunities for veterans.
SourceAmerica™, is the first to answer the call of supporting our veterans at the Warriors To The Workforce Hiring Event by becoming the Presenting Sponsor.
Other organizations committing to participate are ADS, Aerotek, Calibre, Camber, CSC, First Command, Lockheed Martin, Navy Federal Credit Union, Northrop Grumman, Troops Into Transportation, US Army Corps of Engineers and Verizon.
Veterans attending the meeting will have the opportunity to talk with employers, submit qualifications and participate in job interviews on the spot.
Warriors To The Workforce will include virtual capabilities so that all the participating employers will be able to virtually connect with veterans and transitioning military service members throughout the country.
The American Freedom Foundation will vet out resumes and match those qualified veterans and transitioning military service members with employers with specific job descriptions.
In addition to the hiring opportunities, Warriors To The Workforce will include a variety of workshops for veterans each day of the Annual Meeting that will provide resources and information on subjects such as mental readiness, confidence building, networking and presentation skills, resume writing, interviewing techniques, job searching, career planning through goal setting, translating military skills and training into civilian life and corporate experience, to name a few.
Attendance at the Warriors To The Workforce Hiring Event and the Annual Meeting and Exposition is free and open to veterans, military service members and spouses.
The 2013 AUSA Annual Meeting and Exposition, with over 30,000 attendees, is the largest landpower exposition and professional development forum in North America with Army and industry exhibitors occupying over 500,000 square feet of exhibit space.
