2010 AUSA Resolutions Committee approved by Council of Trustees 


The Association of the United States Army’s Council of Trustees approved the AUSA 2010 Resolutions Committee membership at its spring meeting.

Brig. Gen. William West, USA, Ret., Henry Leavenworth Chapter, was selected as the committee chairman. Assisting West as subcommittee chairmen will be Command Sgt. Maj. Douglas Gibbens, USAR, Ret., Indiana Chapter, and Col. Gregory King, USAR, Ret., Fairfax-Lee Chapter.

The committee will convene in Washington Oct. 22 to 27, to compile resolutions that, when adopted, will form the Association’s legislative agenda for 2011. The Resolutions Committee represents a cross section of the Association.

Returning members are: Command Sgt. Maj. Mark Avery, USA, Ret., Omar Bradley Chapter; Lt. Col. Richard Hawley, USA, Ret., Last Frontier Chapter; Lt. Col. Marc Jacobson, USAR, Ret., Redstone-Huntsville Chapter; Maj. Gen. Dave Kaucheck, USAR, Ret., Arizona Territorial Chapter; and Col. Robert Mentell, USA, Ret., Gen. Creighton W. Abrams Chapter.

Dr. James Meyl, DAC, Ret., Tobyhanna Chapter; Maj. Verl Miller, OrANG, Columbia River Chapter; Lt. Col. Gil Pearsall, USA, Ret., Northern New York--Fort Drum Chapter; and Lt. Col. Sharlee Smith, NvARNG, Ret., Gen. Wm. Westmoreland Chapter, will also continue to serve.

Joining the committee for the first time is: Maj. Gen. James E. Donald, USA, Ret., Greater Atlanta Chapter.

The council also approved a roster of alternate members from the group of nominees. In the event a committee member is unable to serve, a replacement may be named from the list of alternates.
