Army Ten-Miler T-shirt design contest opens, prizes ramped up 


This year the Army Ten-Miler T-shirt design contest has upped the ante and will be offering exciting prizes to the top winners, race officials said.

Along with its second-year sponsor, Adobe Systems Inc., that is presenting the contest, the Army Ten-Miler is offering an iMac and Adobe® Creative Suite® CS4 Design Premium software (worth approximately $4,300) as the grand prize.

The winning design will also be printed on over 30,000 runner and volunteer T-shirts for the 26th running of the Army’s premier athletic event.

Second and third prizes have also been ramped up. The second prize winner will receive a MacBook and Adobe Photoshop® CS4 software (worth approximately $1,700), and the third prize winner will receive a digital camera (worth approximately $500).

The contest is now open and will close June 3.

The Army Ten-Miler T-shirt design contest is open to all U.S. residents, ages 18 and older.

Designs must be original artwork and reflect the unique tradition and experience of the Army Ten-Miler.

After the June 3 deadline, a Blue Ribbon Advisory Committee of military civilians will judge the entries, and the top five designs will be posted on the Army Ten-Miler Web site.

Only Army Ten-Miler’s 30,000 registered runners will vote from June 9 –18 to select top three winners from the five chosen by the committee.
