Records broken at 2009 Army Ten-Miler

With over 30,000 registered runners – an all-time high – the 25thArmy Ten-Miler silver anniversary run took place Oct. 4 at the Pentagon, the day before the 2009 Association of the United States Army Annual Meeting and Exposition.



Forty Gold Star Mothers from around the country participated in "Gold Star Mother’s Day" with a tour of Washington that was supported by AUSA’s George Washington Chapter.


Army families: Thriving in the midst of challenges

As the Army Family Covenant kicks off its third year of existence, Brig. Gen. Reuben D. Jones said the Army is striving to help its soldiers and families develop resilience-positive adaptation to repeated adversity or trauma.


Caulkins wins writing contest

Col. Bruce D. Caulkins, the winner of the 2009 writing contest co-sponsored by AUSA’s Institute of Land Warfare and U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command’s Army Capabilities Integration Center (ARCIC) was awarded a $1,000 prize at a Sept. 11 Pentagon ceremony.


Army Museum updates shown at Annual Meeting

Thousands of attendees at the 2009 Association of the United States Army Annual Meeting and Exposition, Oct. 5 to 7, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center toured the National Museum of the United States Army’s exhibit and received updates on the museum’s progress.
