Major Speakers Confirmed for AUSA Meeting

Defense Secretary Ashton B. Carter, Army Secretary John M. McHugh, Army Chief of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley and Homeland Security Secretary Jeh C. Johnson are confirmed as speakers during the three-day Association of the U.S. Army’s Annual Meeting and Exposition that begins Oct. 12.McHugh is scheduled to speak at the opening ceremony on Monday, Oct. 12, and will appear with Milley on Monday afternoon at a town hall family forum. Sergeant Major of the Army Daniel A. Dailey will also be part of that town hall meeting. Proceeding the leaders will be a spouse panel that includes Hollyanne Milley, Holly Dailey and Stacie Pongocheff, who was named, along with her husband Sgt. Blagoy Pogoncheff, as AUSA’s Volunteer Family of the Year.McHugh and Milley are also scheduled to speak at a breakfast for congressional staff on Tuesday, Oct. 13, an invitation-only event. Milley’s key address is scheduled for Eisenhower Luncheon on Tuesday, an event that requires a ticket or invitation.Carter’s address comes Wednesday at a luncheon for AUSA’s sustaining members, an invitation-only event.Johnson will speak Tuesday, Oct. 13 as part of a contemporary military forum focused on the partnership between the Army and the Homeland Security Department. There are two additional Homeland Security-related forums on Wednesday, and there is a Homeland Security pavilion on the exhibit floor.
