LANPAC 2015 wrapped up Thursday with a pledge from the Association of the U.S. Army’s president to continue pressing the importance of landpower in the Pacific and elsewhere.“This was a very rich, very productive conference,” said retired Army Gen. Gordon R. Sullivan, AUSA’s president and CEO.This is the third year for AUSA’s Institute of Land Warfare to host the event in Honolulu, and attendance has grown from 590 in 2013, to 799 in 2014 and 1,250 people this year, a boost partly resulting from the addition of a popular Senior Enlisted Forum. “My prediction is next year will be even bigger,” Sullivan said.Sullivan said hosting the event is part of AUSA’s goal of supporting the Army. “AUSA is 100 percent committed to telling the story of landpower,” he said. “You can count on us to tell the story the best we can.”“By any measure, this has been a resounding success,” said Gen. Vincent Brooks, the U.S. Army Pacific commanding general.
