Five scholarships will be awarded at ROTC luncheon Oct. 25

          Five scholarships to deserving Reserve Officers’ Training Corps cadets will be presented at the Association of the United States Army’s 2010 Annual Meeting and Exposition during the ROTC luncheon for cadets, cadre personnel and invited guests.

          The luncheon will take place at 12:30 p.m., Oct. 25, at the Renaissance Washington DC Hotel, 999 9^th Street, NW, one block from the Walter E. Washington Convention Center where the three-day AUSA meeting will be held.

• AUSA’s national headquarters, the luncheon’s host, will present a $4,000 scholarship.
• The Maude Foundation, founded to preserve the legacy of Lt. Gen. Timothy J. Maude, who was serving as the Army’s deputy chief of staff for personnel, G-1, and was the highest ranking officer killed on Sept. 11, 2001, when American Airlines Flight 77 flew into the Pentagon at 9:37 a.m., will present two $2,000 scholarships to cadets who entered ROTC through the “Green to Gold” program.
• GEICO will present a $1,500 scholarship.
• United Services Automobile Association (USAA) will present a $1,500 scholarship.

          Awards will also be presented at the luncheon to the AUSA-ROTC Companies that have distinguished themselves during the past year.

        ROTC Luncheon -- There is no charge for cadets and cadre, but the space is limited.  Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Those with tickets will enter first and receive priority seating.  To attend the Annual Meeting and /or Luncheon, you must be registered.

        Registration (NO CHARGE) -- All cadets, faculty advisers, professors of Military Science and U.S. Army Cadet Command staff attending the meeting must be registered and can pick up their tickets and badges at the AUSA registration area.

        To register for the meeting and lunch, E-Mail your name (Cadet and PMS personnel only), address, school name, ROTC unit and day telephone number.

If you do not order luncheon tickets unless you intend to use them.
