Gyrocam Systems is the leader in turnkey gyrostabilized optical surveillance systems for land, maritime, and airborne applications. We specialize in providing our customers with a complete, integrated solution for their surveillance requirements – including research and design, production, system integration, installation, maintenance and training.
Gyrocam optical sensor systems are lab-certified, field tested, and battle proven. We satisfy the demanding requirements of all branches of the U.S. military; federal, state, and municipal law enforcement; and homeland security. Gyrocam Systems is dedicated to providing force multiplying sensor systems to meet the current and future requirements of our customers.
Camera System Technologies
Through the use of high resolution color, continuous zoom thermal imaging, and night vision technologies contained in a single unit, Gyrocam optical sensor systems have the following capabilities:
· Four-axis gyrostablization provides rock-steady imaging when mounted on any platform
· With a quick-change, universal mount, the ability to be utilized on any land, airborne, or maritime platform, providing our customers with mission flexibility
· The ability to see through darkness, smoke, fog, and haze. Bad weather, sandstorms, and night time conditions are no longer limiting factors for combat surveillance missions
· The ability to magnify up to 100 times the human eye can detect, bringing the surveillance target within easy viewing range while maintaining a safe, standoff margin from potential danger
· Integration capability with other ISR technologies, remote weapons stations, communications equipment, and C2 systems
Gyrocam optical sensor systems perform equally well on land, on sea, and in the air. With full gyrostabilization, weather-tight construction, and a quick-change, universal mount, surveillance teams can transition our systems from one platform to another platform and be operational within minutes.
Vehicle Mounted Optical Sensor Systems
| Gyrocam’s optical sensor systems can be installed on virtually any land vehicle to meet specific customer requirements. Our systems come in a variety of mounting configurations, armor options, and can be equipped with communications equipment for image transmission to remote command sites. |

Through the Vehicle Optics Sensor System (VOSS) program, Gyrocam Systems currently provides the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps, with hundreds of land-based, vehicle-mounted camera systems for use in route clearance and EOD missions and the detection of enemy insurgent activities. These optical sensor systems are mast-mounted on Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles, with the capability to be raised up to 25 feet in the air for increased surveillance coverage.
Expeditionary Optical Sensor Systems
Gyrocam Systems also offers gyrostabilized Expeditionary systems that are mounted on a stationary, stand-alone mast platform. Our Expeditionary systems were created to provide a freestanding, fully portable, rapid-deployment surveillance package, with two major configurations:
· Expeditionary FlyAway Rapid Deployment Surveillance System (RDSS)
· Expeditionary CONEX Systems
Both types of systems can be rapidly deployed and operated in literally any type of land environment, including urban areas, undeveloped land, and mountainous terrain. Expeditionary systems are ideal for homeland, border, infrastructure, base, and port security.

Gyrocam Systems has recently supplied Expeditionary FlyAway RDSS to the U.S. Marine Corps in Afghanistan.
The Expeditionary FlyAway RDSS package includes your choice of any Gyrocam optical sensor system, mounting kit, power supplies, monitor and a telescoping 32-foot mast. As a mobile, quick set-up surveillance system, the FlyAway RDSS can be moved frequently and deployed at strategic areas giving command personnel a bird’s eye view of activity in the area. |
Expeditionary CONEX Systems
The Expeditionary CONEX is a turnkey mobile command center designed for rapid deployment and remote-operation capabilities. The system’s ease of portability and self sustainment makes it ideal for homeland, border, infrastructure, base, and port security.
The Expeditionary CONEX can be equipped with any Gyrocam System optical sensor system mounted on an un-guy-wired telescoping mast of 60 feet, while integrated with communications equipment for remote C2 activity. The full command center includes up to two analyst stations, heat and air conditioning, and is completely self-contained with power supplied by generator, shore power, or 24-volt back-up power.
Complete and Comprehensive Warfighter Support
Through its Technical Services branch, and through the dedication of over 40 individual field service representatives (FSR) in theater, Gyrocam Systems has developed a substantial logistic footprint and has accomplished the following for the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps:
· Maintained a mission readiness rate of over 95%, over thousands of hours of operation, throughout the life of the program
· Over 400 optical sensor systems are installed on military vehicles in Afghanistan and Iraq such as the RG-31, JERRV 4x4, EOD 6x6, and the RG-31 Mark V
