Support for the Warfighter

The U.S. Army Medical Department (AMEDD) needed a faster way to gather and process the health information of its soldiers around the globe.  Within 30 days, Deloitte helped the Army put mobile systems in place that now collect vital data within 48 hours rather than 8 months.

Additionally, Deloitte oversaw certain aspects of a Combat Medic 16-week training course at the Director of Combat Medic Training (DCMT) , United States Army Medical Department Center and School (AMEDD C&S) in Fort Sam Houston, TX. Deloitte utilized its vast depth of medical training experience to help design a program that innovatively incorporated specific requirements and provided a rich learning environment for effective student achievement.

Support for Strategic Planning

Deloitte recognizes the challenges faced by the DoD in the current budgetary environment and is actively engaged in finding solutions that promote better use of resources and efficiency initiatives. Deloitte assisted CENTCOM leadership to devise an analytical technique to better measure the impacts related to a shrinking staff.  Beginning with one directorate, a proof-of-concept was initiated to measure each resource’s workload and its impact on enduing and contingency missions.  Ultimately this study provided CENTCOM leaders with a tool to assist them in their efforts direct organizational decisions using hard data, manage risks, and leverage resources.

 Support for Process Design

Deloitte seeks to gain a deep understanding of each of its client’s goals, objectives and challenges. Supporting the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization (JIEDDO), Deloitte recognized the client’s need for a more rapid and streamlined process for its acquisition of Counter IED (C-IED) solutions. From this understanding, Deloitte helped create the Joint IED Defeat Capability Approval and Acquisition Management Process (JCAAMP) which allows C-IED solutions and training to be rapidly identified, developed, demonstrated, and delivered to Warfighters across the globe. Rather than the typical multiple year acquisition process, JIEDDO now has the ability to provide C-IED solutions in as little as four months.

Support for the DoD Community

Deloitte plays a significant and meaningful role in strengthening America’s communities through its strong service-oriented culture and authentic desire to make meaningful social impacts. Part of this strong commitment to community is specific to our nation’s veteran and wounded warrior population. Deloitte has a wide variety of programs supporting veterans and wounded warriors, including an Armed Forces Business Resource Group and a Wounded Warrior Mentoring Organization among others. These programs continue to increase in scope and quantity with the support of Deloitte leadership who champion the recruitment, development, and community outreach efforts specific to our veteran and wounded warrior population. Many of the organization’s senior leaders are veterans themselves, and their advocacy is evident throughout the organization.

For the third year in a row, Deloitte was the presenting sponsor of the Warrior Games, featuring 220 wounded, ill, and injured servicemen and women from the armed forces competing in an Olympic-style national competition. The annual event, a joint effort between the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) and the Department of Defense (DoD), uses sport to help service members in their rehabilitation and transition back into society. Warrior athletes compete in seven Paralympics sports including wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball, archery, track & field, shooting, cycling, and swimming.
