November 10, 2010
On behalf of the more than 100,000 members of the Association of the United States Army, I urge the immediate completion of the Fiscal Year 2011 Defense Authorization and Appropriations bills.
Our ability to fight international terrorism and sustain the all volunteer force is dependent upon timely defense authorizations and appropriations. The bills must meet the Army’s baseline budget and fund the war. I stress the necessity of getting the bills to the President for signature before the end of this Congressional session.
In a time of war, as well as Army transformation, we need to provide our Army’s leadership with the tools it needs to complete planned and ongoing initiatives. Our Soldiers and our Army deserve no less than your full support for the timely completion of the defense authorization and appropriations bills.
Sincerely,
GORDON R. SULLIVAN General, USA Retired |
