The following is a summary of where AUSA stands on key issues including Pay, Health Care, Housing, Families, Retiree, Grow the Army, Readiness, Transformation & Modernization of the Force

Pay

  • Close the Gap (military and federal civilian)  Resolution 11-03, Point 1 & 11-02, Point 1
  • Maintain comparability in out years  Resolution 11-03, Point 1

 Health Care

  • No increases in TRICARE fees/deductibles  Resolution 11-05, Point 1
  • No erosion of benefits (pharmacy, quality of care)  Resolution 11-05, Paragraph 6
  • Fully fund Wounded Warrior initiatives  Resolution 11-05, Point 5
  • Fully fund TBI/PTSD care and research initiatives  Resolution 11-05, Paragraph 5
  • Increase Medicare reimbursement rates  Resolution 11-05, Point 6

 Housing

  • Additional funding (build new and repair existing)  Resolution 11-01, Point 1
  • Innovative programs (Maintain public/private partnership funding)  Resolution 11-01, Point 2

 Families

  • Fully fund Army Family initiatives  Resolution 11-01, Paragraph 3, Points 7, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17 & 18
  • Expand spousal and family member education and employment opportunities  Resolution 11-01, Point 16, 17, 18 & 24   

 Retiree

  • Full concurrent receipt for all disabled retirees  Resolution 11-04, Point 4
  • Reduce Reserve Component retirement age from 60 to 55  Resolution 11-04, Point 8

 Grow the Army

  • Funded end strength – AC, 700,000; ARNG, 371,000; RC, 215,000  Resolution 11-07, Paragraph 5, Point 4
  • Fully resourced recruiting and retention  Resolution 11-07, Point 14
  • Fill 100% of ARNG and USAR full-time manning positions   Resolution 11-07, Point 10

 Readiness

  • Defense spending – at least 5% of GDP/Army share at least 28%  Resolution 11-07, Points 1 & 2
  • Continuing support for Overseas Contingency Operations (OCO) funding  Resolution 11-07, Point 5
  • Spare parts – no shortages  Resolution 11-07, Point 13
  • Operations & Maintenance funds for all missions of AC & RC  Resolution 11-07, Point 12

 Transformation & Modernization of the Force

  • Fully fund resetting of  the Current Force  Resolution 11-09, Point 1
  • Rebalance Army capabilities to strengthen readiness  Resolution 11-07, Point 17

  • Fully fund Future Force technologies/capabilities to enhance the Current Force  Resolution 11-16, Paragraph 3
  • Increase funding for research and development
