The Holiday Season 2010
(12/22/2010) The Holiday Season – A Time for Joy and A Time to Remember the Troops and their Families
THE 56th AUSA Annual Meeting 2010
(10/8/2010) In this first week of October, we are in the final days of preparation for what will be our largest and most meaningful Annual Meeting ever.
Pressing Business at Hand
(09/17/2010) AUSA are working hard at pointing out to members of Congress that in this short legislative session they must turn their attention to the defense authorizing and appropriating process.
Get Ready for the Next War
(08/02/2010) After each of America’s wars, the armed forces shrank and were consequently too few and too ill-equipped to fight the next war – and indeed, the smaller poorly-equipped troops seemed to invite the next foe to attack our weakened military force.
Celebrating the Fourth illustrates bond between Army, citizens
(07/02/2010) We celebrate the nation’s 234th birthday on July Fourth; and across all those years, through long and trying times, there has been the Army. As George Washington told the Continental Army upon assuming its command, “The fate of unborn millions now depends, under God, on the conduct and courage of this Army.”
AUSA at 60 AUSA continues to fight for soldiers, families
(06/25/2010) As we begin this summer, we are marking two anniversaries of significance: the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Association of the United States Army and the 60th anniversary of the beginning of the Korean War.
Protect Soldier Pay and Benefits
(06/10/2010) We owe it to our brave service members who are in harm’s way, not to use their pay and benefits for budget-cutting target practice.
The troops need wartime funding
(05/12/2010) As seems to happen with maddening frequency, we are witnessing the game of "playing chicken” with supplemental funds for the troops begin to play out on Capitol Hill.
How Does Health Care Reform Affect You?
(04/08/2010) Well, folks, the question in the title is on everyone’s mind, so I asked our AUSA government affairs staff to put together a Q and A to help allay any fears that TRICARE is going to be negatively affected by the civilian health care reform legislation.
Winter brings blizzards and budgets
(02/18/2010) Well, folks, your association has survived back-to-back blizzards that dropped several feet of snow in the Nation’s Capital, only to be faced with analyzing a blizzard of defense dollars in the newly-released federal budget.
A Time for Reflection and Thanks
(12/18/2009) The holiday season is a good time to reflect on the past year and look forward to the next. In Iraq the drawdown of our forces has begun, leaving a country profoundly changed over the past six years. Our brave men and women, fathers and mothers, sons and daughters who fought in Iraq can clearly see that their sacrifices have not been in vain.
Army Strong, Army Resilient
(11/16/2009) Since the beginning of this month, we have most certainly demonstrated in many ways an Army Strong and an Army Resilient.
