February 2008 - Over 1,000 people participated in our 6th Annual Tribute to the Military 5 K Run to honor our Military Family fighting our Global War on Terrorism and to raise public consciousness about the debt we all owe to our Military folks troops and families.
May 2005 - The Florida Gulf Stream Chapter recently hosted a pizza party for the men and women of Special Operations Southern Command (SOCSOUTH) at Falcon's Nest at the All Ranks Club, Homestead Air Reserve Station. More than 100 men and women of SOCSOUTH attended the event as guests, said Dr. Robert E. Pickard, retired Medical Corps colonel and president of the chapter. Dr. Pickard spoke about the economic and morale donations the chapter was giving to the troops and families. He offered his own services as an ear, nose and throat physician freely to every member of SOCSOUTH.
January 2004 - The Chapter made a donation of $300 to "Operation Brave Kids" for the children of South Florida Reservists and National Guard troops called to active duty. See more information at
