Braxton Bragg Chapter (Fayetteville/Fort Bragg, NC)
January 2008 - COL(R) Don Goulet, Chapter president, and COL(R) Scott Thein, president-elect, took possession of a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu sedan from Reed-Lallier Chevrolet and Powers Swain Chevrolet of Fayetteville NC. The dealers donated the Malibu to the chapter so that it could be raffled off to support wounded warrior programs at Ft Bragg. The raffle will be conducted from Jan 16 - Feb 22, 2008 and the drawing will be held in the lobby of Womack Army Medical Center on Feb 22. All raffle proceeds will be used for the chapter's wounded warrior program. Tickets are $5.00. The two dealers also loaned the chapter a trailer and pickup truck to move the vehicle from venue to venue to promote raffle sales.
Col(R) Don Goulet, chapter president, presented CSM(R) Steve England, 82d ABN Div Memorial Foundation, a check for $10,000 to upgrade the 82d ABN Division GWOT memorial. When the memorial was first established over two years ago, the division did not anticipate the number of division members who would be killed in Afghanistan and Iraq. The chapter donated $3000 one year ago on top of its initial donation of $4500 because the division's casualties began to mount. Because of continued casualties, the division must now complete a major upgrade to the memorial which is estimated to cost $200,000. The project will be completed in May 2008 in time for All American Week. Gold Star families will attend the dedication ceremony.
January 2007 - Purchased items, in the amount of $975.19 for the deployment of 949 troopers from the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade to Afghanistan. The chips, sodas, etc., are for the soldiers and their families while they await transportation the Green Ramp.

November 2006 - Chapter has supported, as part of the Braxton Bragg Volunteer contingent at the Ft Bragg Yule Marts activities. My task was to be a bell ringer at the entrance of the "Santa's Secret Shop" where very young children entered to buy gifts for their parents, grandparents and other close relatives. Their parents contributed a sum of money that was converted to "funny money" which the children took into the carefully concealed store only for children to buy the gifts. Each child was escorted though the store by little elfs who themselves were for the most part little children.
October 2006 - COL (R) Don Goulet, Chapter President, addressed the Ft Bragg Army Family Action Plan (AFAP) CONFERENCE and described how important their efforts are and the chapter's active effort in supporting our soldiers by supporting their families.
